  1. OK, Guinea pigs have normal hair loss, mine shed a little every day, that is very normal, but the should not shed huge handsful, or glops or large patches. If you guinea pig has done this, or if the shedding is going along with no interest in food, loss of shine in coat, or other problems, then it is critical and you should contact a vet. See which it is. Hope i helped.

  2. They are not dogs or cats or rabbits. They are guinea pigs and are completely unrelated.Guinea pigs do not shed. They loose hair when they have a mange problem.Mange is sarcoptic mange or guinea pig mites. The mites are invisible and cause them much pain and suffering. Why do you think she is dying??Is she not eating? Is she having seizures?Does she look like she is sick or in pain?We have to have more info from you.

For the mange which I'm almost sure she has,she must visit a vet and be treated. There are no other options for you.She must go to a vet.

They should not be kept where it is hot. They are very delicate animals. They will suffer heat stroke and die if over heated. Please email me for more information  about you guinea pig.

  3. Guinea pigs do have some natural hair loss. However, if it is severe, there could be a problem with parasites, fungus, or metabolic hair loss. Check this out:

It is important to figure out exactly what the problem is.

  4. I think by now she should of already shedded her summer coat by now. She can be really sick, you should take her to the vet immediately.

  5. Lol, don't worry, she isn't dying!

My rabbit, (A Lionhead) sheds like maaaad in Summer and it is so annoying to be covered in white hairs. But they build up a warm fluffy Winter coat and have to get rid of it somehow! If you want to rid your clothes of Piggy hair, you should get some sticky tape and just dab it along your clothes. I find sticky tape 10 times better than those lint rollers you can buy.

    Good Luck!
