  1. Take your guitar to a guitar technician and either get the truss rod adjusted or have your bridge lowered if it's adjustable, or even both. If you don't know of a technician, ask people at your local guitar shop, Google it, or check your yellow pages. There is a chance if your guitar is really REALLY cheap, that your action is at its lowest or may not even be adjustable. Good luck.

  2. Hi

First, put on .009 extra light gauge on your guitar. That will remove about 75 lb of pressure on the neck which will straighten the neck enought to lower the action slightly.

Secondly, if the nect has proper clearance between string and fingerboard at the 7th fret, then you only have the bridge left to lower the action. You can do that yourself. If you lower it too much and buzzes, you can raise it slightly until the buzzing disappears.

As for the neck clearance, put 1 finger on the 1st fret and one on the 12th fret. That is a perfect straight line and look to see how much clearance you have on the 7th fret. It should be about 1/16" or a little more. If it's 1/8" and above, you need to turn the truss rod 1/4 turn clockwise and repear if necessary.

that's it. There's no other way to lower the action.

  3. go to youtube and type in "guitar set up" there will be several videos you can watch that will explain.
