  1. Guitars sound different. Different brands, different body styles, different wood.

By a base, you mean a thing to put it on so you aren't leaning it up against something? It's a good idea - that or a wall hanger. Bases are cheap, though, and portable. It won't change the sound except that will help it stay in tune a little better vs leaning it up against something.

Another possibility is that since it's a new guitar it still hasn't adjusted to your living environment. Temperature changes, different humidity, etc.

Another possibility is that the strings are still new or are approaching being dead. If you haven't changed the strings, do so. It's good practice, and that way you know you're starting from fresh strings. I would say to get Elixirs, but they're pretty expensive, and if you snap a string (this would be one of your first times restringing a guitar, right?) it would be a bummer to have it be an expensive string. Go with Ernie Ball for now - they're good strings. Just not the cheapest ones.

Every guitar has a slightly different voice... you'll get used to it.

    Congratulations on the new guitar!

  2. huh?

  3. Every guitar sound different.

  4. It's probably because the guitar isn't truly tuned.  You may have it tuned to itself, but not to the true notes.  Try with a tuner or keyboard.

  5. you probably will  have to plug it in to get all the sound its capable of it may have a built in equalizer

  6. Because guitars sound different.

And what are you talking about when you say "base"?

  7. guitars shouldnt sound different. And acoustic/electric guitars can be played plugged in or not- it will make no difference. Either your mates aren't listening, or (if you used an electric tuner) you might have pressed a flat or sharp button, which raises/ lowers the type of tuning you want ie Pressing a flat button will change the tuning the tuner is looking for from a standard E tuning to Eflat. If thats not the case try bringing it to a local music store and getting an opinion

  8. beacuz it is a 2 in 1 guitar so the sound will not be the same with out the amp also you tuning could be worong i would suggest an eletric tuner.

  9. What does 'I properly tuned it" mean?  Did you use an actual TUNER or did you do a relative tuning?  If you didn't use a TUNER then how do you know you started at the right point?

I don't think you have it tuned right... try a tuner on it and see what happens.
