  1. well one thing is that yout learning songs not things thatll really help you get better such as scales and things try playing more scales and try tapping just because you can play a few songs doesnt mean your superly awesomely so totaly wicked maybe you do have a natural talent for it and that would be great but theres really no need for this Q try doing more scales and variations of them i have a pretty hard one if you want it. ill email it to you but anyways i hope you get even better

    God Bless

  2. Just coz you can play a song doesn't mean you are good at guitar. I'm not saying your bad, just that there is a lot more to guitar than being able to copy people.

To be really as great as you make yourself out to be, I would start doing some music theory as well as scales. If you know all the theory and all the scales then you can go from there. You need to learn the guitar itself..not how other people play it.

The same applies to any musical instrument that uses notes. Once you know more about music itself everything with the instrument becomes more clear.

I reckon for now you should stop playing pre-written songs by famous artists, and concentrate on your theory and scales etc. thats the best advice I can give you from 12 years of my musical career!

  3. Being able to play a few riffs learned by rote off of tab doesn't constitute "being good at guitar".  Its a decent start for 5-6 weeks, but I wouldn't start patting myself on the back just yet if I were you. A lot of beginner guitar players are totally dependent on tabs to learn riffs and solos and bits and pieces from various songs, and yet they can't play any songs all the way through, so after awhile they get bored and quit.  Until you can play an entire song from beginning to end -- not just the opening riff or the solo, but the whole song including the rhythm guitar part -- from memory, you don't know the song.

You don't say anything about having learned any chords yet, or rhythm playing, or scales or theory.  If your instructor started you off on tabbed-out riffs right away without any background in scales or chords or any of the basics of how to play MUSIC, I can't say I think too highly of his/her teaching methods.

And until you can create your own solos and rhythm guitar parts, transpose into different keys, and hear and play along by ear with other musicians or with a recording, you can't really call yourself a guitar player.

  4. lol bro im the same way you sound pretty good after about 3 months of playing i learned a song called canon rock by jerry c. check it out on youtube. just put in canon rock. but ya also try some avenged sevenfold bro. i also learned how to sweep my 2nd month it comes to people and some it takes them a wile. hope i helped bro.

  5. Before playing the songs, make sure that u r through wit te music lessons. Make sure that u can play the chords easily without mistakes. Keep on practising notes.
