My gun went through a flood, how do I clean it so it doesn't get ruined?

My .22 pistol was in a case on the floor of my car, when I drove thru a flooded road. I did not think my car was damaged but realized a few days later that my carpets were soaked. As I began taking items out of my car I also realized that my gun bag was wet. When I opened it up everything in there was wet too. The gun is starting to rust just a little. I've dried it off as much as I can, the ammo I will get rid of. Soooo what product should I use to clean the gun?
