  1. Loadsa reasons, like commercial guppies aren't very hardy, so they can snuff it at little changes, stress, etc. If the guppys aren't at a male to female 1:3 ratio, this would stress the females loads, constant harassment, mabie death. May just be old, they only live a couple of years in aquariums.

  2. There are many possible answers to this question. Guppies are very hard to keep alive, in all honesty. The water levels could be off, you might be feeding to much, but if it was a male guppy, it might have been your zebra danios. I have a 30 gallon tank with 3 danios and 3 guppies. The danios seemed aggressive, and they harrassed the males so much that they just ended up dying. I would suggest, if you want to get more male guppies, take the danios out while you introduce the guppy(s). Let the new fish warm up to the tank for 3-4 days, then put the danios back in the tank. That way, the guppies aren't stressed already from the transition of switching tanks, and they will not die so easily. Once the danios get comfortable with the guppies they will leave them alone, I know. It's just keeping them alive that long :P

You could just move the danios out, as well.

    Hope this helps!
