My guppy has a condition that i think is called pop eye?

one eye bigger than the other. looks swollen. i have some fish food that i've had for years called, anti bacteria, medicated flakes is that safe to use or should i get another medicine? if so what is it called?

  1. If the food is old I wouldn't use it. It's probably lost most of it's medicinal properties. I would buy Maracyn Two for popeye. I've never heard of goggle eye. It may be a colloquial thing.  


  2. Hmm...I've never heard of it being called goggle eye. I've never even heard of goggle eye! But Popeye is a bacterial infection of the eye, so an anti-bacterial flake food should help. In addition, keep the water super clean and add an extra pinch of aquarium salt with each water change in addition to your regular conditioner.

    Good luck! Popeye is pretty easy to treat if caught early enough, and his eye should go back to normal.
