My hair is like 3 inches or a little bit more long and when i'm taking a bath and I put conditioner and I see my hand I can see various strands, or when I put gel or something to make it seem better I see my hand with hair. I have started observing every strand that falls and I see a little white tip on the end that came from the scalp. I have naturally curly, thin, dry hair and I would like to know if my hair is falling or breaking. I have like 2 years with this problem now and I see hair everywhere on my floor, bed, clothes, etc. I'm 18 years old so I don't think i'm balding. Its not breaking at the ends, its breaking at the scalp. What should I do? (I'm not gonna cut my hair)

  1. The little white tip is the bulb/root (papilla)of the hair... so I think the hair is falling out... not breaking off... the hair follicle is what holds onto the root(papilla) and there are many things that can effect this and cause the hair to turn loose... hormones, medications, diet... it is all mainly internal business that effects us and shows up in the hair, skin and nails... you need to see a dermatologist soon... you said it has been going on for about 2 years... on average we are to loose 50 to a 100 hairs a day... you are 18yo... have you recently started birth control... can you think of anything thing that has changed... please go have this seen about... when loosing hair someone the follicle dies and the loss of a follicle is permanent hair loss!!!

good luck and I hope I helped:-)))

  2. buy a thickening shampoo and conditioner or hair treatment it really helps

  3. Never over wash your hair. When you do wash it, make sure you deep condition your hair. Not just for 2 minutes or whatever the bottle says. Put conditioner on, put on a "shower" cap and sit under the dryer for about 15-20 minutes. If you don't have a dryer, keep it on for about half an hour. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water, eating a balanced diet, and taking your vitamins. Make sure you aren't coloring your hair, or processing it with other products. That could an can lead to MUCH hair damage. You might want to also visit a stylist, and make sure you do your homework. Make sure you find a stylist the specializes in healthy hair, some just focus on styles. Wish you luck!!!

  4. are you stress? stress can cause your hair to fall out. thickening shampoo or conditioner would be good too. And did you know that we can also use horse hair shampoo & condtitioner. try it. Vitamin E is also good for skin, nails, and hair.

  5. Its normal to lose 150-300 hairs per day, depending on seasons etc. However, if you think its a problem, buy placenta at any pharmacy and masage a bit into your scalp with your fingertips every morning until you see results. Guarantee you will. x*x

  6. It's not breaking..Your shedding...Old hairs get replaced by the New one's..Everyone looses over 100 hair strands a day...and when your in the shower it happens alot more..and the white ends are called 'Bulbs'..Everyone has them, It's part of the hair.
