My hamster is fine when I handel it with gloves and long clothes on, but when i try putting it on bare hands/ skin, it nibbles on me! I have attempted a few times, but everytime it nibbles. It thinks that without the gloves, I am a completely different person! Please help me!!! I have tried doing those hand feeding sessions, but doesn't seem to trust my hand. I don't think that I can handel it without those gloves... :(

-My hamster also seems to find my hands a threat when I hold them at the ends of the cage.

-She is fine crawling around my body everywhere else (on clothing though)

-Gloves= <3

  1. My hammie did this

bit me everyday for a week and a half (about)

What i did, is that i put him in an enclosed area

And put my nail, or finger, to him, and if he tries to nibble, pull away, and kinda yell at him, raise your voice and make it serious.

And if he doesn't, praise him and give him a treat.

Could take a while, but its worth it :DD

And gloves can't help, ditch them, they don't help your hammie get use to your scent

But it could also be you smell like something tasty lol xD

    Good luck

    hope i helped =]

  2. Sorry I dont think I can help you

  3. Try washing your hands before handling him. He probably smells food, and mistakens you for a treat. That usually is the problem for most hamster owners. Wash after you hold him too. Also use soap, dry your hands really good, and don't use any lotion or moisturizer if you're about to handle him.

  4. hamsters are commonly more aggressive not all of them, but some.also it could be that rodents bite /nibble things to see what they are, try hold you hand in a fist right next to your hamester, lets it bite you a few times (not like its biting you so hard ur going to bleed) but just let it. dont make jerk your hand around when doing this, that will let him know that your figety and might be harmrful, so dont jerk you hand when doing this. it could aslo be that you touched something , or the oils on your hands , wash your hand before hadling him/her. that might help. Your hamster could aslo just be one of the figety ones that is aggresive but if its just nibbles and mild biting and not biting hard and stuff, its probably one of the first 2. hope i helped! and if your good at math, could you help me with my question plz? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

if you cants its ok. ty and i hope this helped!
