My hamster's hind legs stopped working...?

I had two hamsters. One of them died. Her name was Patooty. She died yesterday......we got another one just so ours woudln't be lonely....

She was fine that morning, and we had bought her a month ago. The people at the petstore told us she was under 1 years old, so she didn't die of old age. For some reason, she totally lost all feeling in her hind legs, like they were paralyzed. She would drag them around while moving with her two front feet. She was very hyper, more than the other hamster we have, and she was a robo dwarf hamster. Approximately 3-4 hours after we found her paralyzed, she died. Can anyone tell me what might have caused it? Just so this doesn't happen again?

  1. one of my old hamsters had the same problem. turned out she was climbing her cage, fell off, cracked her backand messed up her spine. making her back legs not work, and it ended up killing her. normally it'll be from them falling, or them getting stuckin something. alot of times hamsters hurt they'reback, hurting they're nerves. if you have a cage they can climb, mayb try getting on they can't climb on? and ten just get them a toy they cann climb on, that's kinda short to put in they're cage.

  2. She could have a stroke. Take her to the vet immediately if she does.
