I don't want to change bedding... Pine, Cedar isn't good.. and Aspen is uncomfortable. I'm scared he'll eat anything I get for him.

  1. He should be fine, I mean why would they sell bedding for hamsters if something bad could happen to them for eating it right? My hamster puts bedding in her mouth all the time, and im sure some of it she swallows. I dont think it will do any harm since its just bedding. And maybe try giving it some treats like crackers and crunchy things to distract it from eating the bedding.

  2. my dwraf does that he bites it and carries it it's a way of transporting his bedding and he turned out to be fine.

  3. It's okay for them to eat some bedding- that's a normal habit.  Just make sure that his food dish is easy to find and that he has fresh food and enough food... Good luck with your hamster!

  4. I think thats a normal behavior. Thank god that you knew enough to get Carefresh and not pine, now pine would have been a problem! It might be possible that he is a little bored maybe? I use this http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... Ecotrition™ Snak Shak Log. It is compleatly edible and healthy for hamsters.

  5. Are you sure hes eating it?  My hamster puts it in his pouch to carry it to his nest.

  6. Eating the bedding is just something they do out of pure boredom. Its perfectly fine, so don't worry (:
