  1. maybe he wasnt feeling good that time i say keep at it for a few more months hopefully he changes

  2. just lightly flick his nose the next time he bites u. i had the same problem.

  3. If you plan on giving away every pet that bites you, it would be financially wise for you to just stop getting them. Hamsters can be very picky sometimes. He might have bitten you because you smelled different today or woke him up, or even if he was just having a bad day.

  4. You should never get rid of him!  Hold him so his mouth isn't facing any of your skin.

  5. how long have you had him?

I'd keep working with him, he might just be untrusting, hamsters have personalities like us. some humans are harder to win over just like hamsters.

I have a dwarf hamster that has been mean since the day I brought him home over a year ago. he still isnt nice and I have done everything.

but I cant get rid of him, I would feel horrible.

so he stays, and just lets no one hold him.

  6. Of course you should give him a chance.

How long ago did you get him? How did you approach him this time when you went to pick him up? Just because he bit you once doesn't make him mean, he was likely just frightened or startled. Before you pick him up, let him sniff the back of your hand so he knows it's you. If he's a new hamster, spend a lot of time talking to him, feeding him treats from your hands, things like that. Hamsters are prey animals, so very timid and fearful. You just have to have patient. :]

  7. Yeah, like so did mine...I hate that...sorry but no answear.

  8. maybe your hand smelled like food???

and if he only made you bleed once then give himsome more chances....

  9. If he usually doesn't bite you, then I wouldn't worry.  Maybe this time he was sleepy, or you may have really startled him by picking him up.  All hamsters bite, so I would give him a chance.  If he continues biting and becomes dangerous, then I would consider giving him away.  For now, don't worry!
