My hamster died and i was just doing stuff with him.. i knew he was diing but not so soon, i am so sad :'(

my hamster died today at 10:53pm augest 4, 2008 and i knew he was diing but i didnt know so soon, i had him out of his cage and we was walking on the floor and he kept stoping and going to sleep like he did for the past month.. and i had him on my lap and he kept lying down and going to sleep so i said ilove you and put him in his cage and 10 minutes later when i checked on him he was dead.. did he want to die on my lap? i am so sad how can i get over it???????

dont be sad lots of animals die but you know what all of us have to die . i know i m not helping but its true dont worry you will get over it. hey at least you didnt have lots of animals and they didnt die. i know how you feel but i got over it they were my favorite. and my first your not the one supposed to be crying i am. whatever see ya wish you luck:(

listen you might or might not get over it I had a dog that died and it was hard but I got over it but I still wish I had him.

I'm so sorry. I know what it feels like to lose a pet. Give yourself time to cry about it for like 2 days. Bury him and make a little memorial. I usually make a cross out of sticks then put it in the dirt. The best way to really get over it would to buy a new pet when your ready. But for fun, try getting dwarf hamsters, mice, rats, guinea pigs, or something different. Your hamster lived a long life and his death was obviously peaceful. He was lucky to spend his life with you. I hope you feel better soon!

Just know that the hamster had a good life with you and was obviously very loved.  Don't let anyone tell you to get over it...a hamster is a pet just like a dog or cat.  When you're ready, try getting another hamster...sometimes getting another pet can cheer you up.

my hamster died about three months ago in my sisters hands and i cried for 2 days but i got new pets and i  named my pet after him and i played with him every day i hope you feel better i know it is hard
