Fiesty, my teddy bear hamster,Chews everything she can get a hold of. If I put her in my lap she chews what I have on, Fiesty has also chewed all of my blankets up. So now I have blankets with a lot of big holes on them. This can get annoying as you can imagine because shirts,pance,jackets,blankets,remotes,co... know all of that good stuff have been torn up.What should I do??? How can I make her stop??whats wrong with her??She shouldn't need to chew I keep a wood block in her cage. What's wrong with my hamster??

  1. I think all rodents chew a lot...i think it something to do with their teeth

  2. hamsters r meant to chew. if they dont, they're teeth get too long, they cant eat, and then they eventually die. give her a wood block or something. if she doesnt chew it, rub her fav food on it and she'll start chewing.

    good luck!

  3. hamsters teeth grow and need to be kept at a certain size to keep them comfortable. if u want buy her a wooden hut, which is great for sleeping in and chewing on. even get her those Milk Bone dog biscuits. they are hard and are fun for hamsters to chew. they are perfectly fine for hamsters to. my hamsters chewed on them and just loved them! if that doesn't help then she just may be bored. so get some toys she would enjoy to put in her cage. and even try and make her a "jungle gym" for outside of the cage. just to give her something to do.

hope this helped and good luck!!

  4. rodents just naturally chew. this is how they keep their teeth from over growing so its good that they chew. i just wouldnt let fiesty near things you dont want ruined. sorry

  5. its not just chewing ur clothes also make nice bedding for a hamster to nest in it not chewing it its trying to gather it to make a nest out of it

  6. Your hamster is fine, she is doing what she knows best. I would start putting in her cage cardboard you can make her a home out of a small box just make sure that there is no writing or ink on the box.

oh also I would check the cage and make sure she is not planing and excape.

  7. A hamster, gerbil, rat, mouse, etc., are constantly chewing to keep their front teeth from growing too long.  Without something to chew on, their front teeth will grow so long, they will eventually be unable to eat and starve to death.  That is why your hamster chews so much.  All rodents do.

Whenever you take her out of her cage, be sure to have her wood block with you and give it to her to chew on.  If she is unable to keep her teeth at a reasonable length, your vet may have to grind them down.

    It's perfectly normal.

  8. hamsters chew everything its something all rodents do, there is nothing wrong with her, shes just being a hamster. you shouldve expected it, its something you have to get used to
