  1. Put another water bottle in the cage. The mother hamster will either uncover the water, or you will when its time to clean the cage again. DO NOT PUT A BOWL OF WATER IN THE CAGE! The mother hamster, or the baby hamsters for that matter, can drown.

PS Totally off subject, but I think you should know... Make sure you separate the baby hamsters into male and female groups when their old enough to be on their own. A baby male hamster can get his mom or sister pregnant at six weeks old!!

  2. I woudnt do anything. The babies will drink there mothers milk and the mother is the one that moved the bedding. Hamsters always know if theres a water source around and they will get to it one way or another!

  3. Leave it like that for a few days. you can try to get a plastic cup or something that wont be chewable  and fill it will water only so she can reach it and not her babies but the water has to be low so she wont drown  because i did that with my hamie until i got it a water bottle.

  4. i think you should leave the babies and the water bottle, and not to diturb the mother. Instead, just buy another one and place it somewhere else (:

  5. how did it cover the water bottle? okay......

ummm what u should do is shift the hamster into another cage, or atleast a big spacious box until the babies grow up a little. u can give her water from a cup, or a bowl which she can drink from. or if u can, gently shift the babies into a different corner of the cage, and surround them with bedding so that they feel cozy. then u can do whatever u want with the water bottle. hope the helps :D

  6. Just leave it for afew days.

The babies drink the mommy's milk anyway.

And if the mommy hamster needs water she knows where it is.

  7. If you feel that your hamster can't get water when it needs to just place another water bottle in the cage. You can also get a water bottle that fits to the outside of the cage and the nozzle sticks through the cage wire. Otherwise listen to the other advice and just let her be. She'll be okay.  Good luck!

  8. The babies drink the moms milk and the mom can move the bedding to get the water! Good luck!

  9. leave it like that if she is thirsty she will move the bedding her self!\

EDIT: this is to the person above me,...you cant touch the babies!

  10. idk bout hamsters but for rat i know you CAN touch the babies but hamsters are nasty viscous creatures...any ways...my rat did the same thing with a new wheel i just got her. she seemed scared of it so i had to take out and take it back. i would suggest getting a new water bottle ASAP. [[mums got to drink]]

    hope i helped!

  11. move the water bottle and just have it either lying down, or put the water in a bowl, rodents don't mind drinking from bowls.

Just be careful to watch the ham hams and make sure they take to it.

  12. The babies will be fine. They will get what they need from mommy. As far as mommy goes I would say she will know how to get access to her water. My hamster does the most bizarre with her bedding at night she moves it all over her cage from place to place sometimes completely redecorates her whole cage with it. It's very amusing.

I really think your hamster is "nesting" and will know how to get to her water when she needs it. Just really keep an eye on her.

  13. buy a mother ******* new one.....

  14. get a new one just until the babies are weaned

  15. i guess your gonna have to put them all to sleep... toooooo bad

  16. get another water bottle until the babies move
