  1. If your hamster seems to lose a lot at a time, you should go to a pet shop.  It is much cheaper.  It is definitely not dying.  If it is losing a little at a time, it is perfectly okay.  Just give it plenty of water and food and it will be very healthy.

  2. Did you research that kind of hamster before you bought it?

Either that's a thing it does or it is really sick. It depends on whether it has any other symptoms. If I were you I'd ask anybody you knew who could have the slightest idea of what's going on. Maybe you should search google. Srry I couldn't help much.

  3. I think the fur loss in your hamster is normal and nothing to worry about since fur loss can occur in older hamsters (usually around one year of age or over) and usually occurs on the belly, hind leg and hip area first.

Fur loss can also be a symptom of a skin infection or skin allergy, mites, mange, diet deficiency or thyroid problems.

Check the skin for any signs of irritation, flakiness, scabs or sores. The hamster should also be observed for excessive scratching or any other signs of illness ie weight loss, lethargy, etc. If the hamster is exhibiting any signs of illness along with fur loss the hamster should be isolated from any others and veterinary advice sought immediately.

General fur loss due to old age or moulting (with no other symptoms) can be helped by crushing a yeast tablet on the hamster's food every other day, lessening the amount once fur has started to regrow. (Yeast tablets can usually be found at a chemist or pharmacy amongst the human vitamin tablets). If yeast tablets are unavailable, vitamin drops (available from pet stores) added to the water will aid fur re-growth.

  4. it might be just because she is over grooming herself. rats do this. if this is the case, there is nothing to worry about!

  5. it could be its age, also give it fresh greens and chopped apple 3 times a week
