  1. What you may want to do is wait until late at night... and just sit in the middle of the house.. Everything turned off so there is no background noise.. and just listen and watch. Hamsters are nocturnal animals and do most of their rummaging at night. So, one night, plan to stay up a little bit late and try and find him/her.  Good luck!!

  2. There are endless places where your hamster could be. I know from experience. We've lost hamsters and we found one in our sump pump(died), another we found under our dishwasher(she was alive). The hamster could be alive. I've seen hamsters live long, and the only reason you know is because they leave their little droppings.

    But anyways, best of luck.

  3. Has the cat been off its food lately

  4. Don't give up yet - hamsters are sometimes known to disappear for days on end or even weeks and then they turn up again - sometimes in the most unlikely places.  He could even turn up in someone else's house so if I were you, as well as keeping "traps" set up for him in your own house as other people have described, I'd ask your neighbours in your street if they would mind keeping their eyes peeled for him - give them your phone number so that they can call you to go collect him.  You will have to tell them that you don't mind being disturbed in the middle of the night because that is when they are likely to encounter him if he's there and, unless you tell them to, they probably won't like phoning you at an "unsociable" hour!

I've referred to your hamster as a "he" throughout this reply.  Sorry if your hamster is a girl.

I hope he/she turns up safe and well soon!

  5. Do you have water put out for him?  I would think he would want that before food.  We had a hamster go missing once and it seemed like it was about a week.  Finally my mom put out some water and he came running!

  6. Find a clean bucket. Put its favorite food in the bottom, and put some books leading up to it, so it can climb up. It will fall in, but it will not be injured.

    Good Luck.

    xx

  7. assuming he is missing some where in your house?

I would give him upto a week to make a reappearance

  8. You'd be amazed at how long they can live eating stuff on the floor & under furniture ! Do yu know from where he got lost. Was he caged in a certain place ? Did you lose him down the couch ? Put his cage on the floor with food & water where you last saw him or where yo think he last was. Do you see poops ?

We lost ours down a couch & had to take off the material from underneath to get him back but first we had to leave the cage down on the floor where he could get back into it . He was asleep in the cage whgen we got back from the mall.

Did he fall from a tabletop cae area into a drawer ?

Again search for the p**p. He's aropund unless you have had the doors open or ...have a cat

    Good Luck.

  9. Follow the 5 steps below and you will find him/her:

    1) Get something to use as a ladder ( old fire grates work well)

    2) Get a tall bucket or toy box.

    3) Attach the ladder to the toy box or bucket.

    4) Put some of his/her favourite treats inside and also at bottom of ladder.

    5) Leave room and just checking every hour.

She/he will soon be back in your loving arms once again.

  10. since hamsters are nocturnal i would stay up late and search the house at night you might find him like that

  11. Just because the food you put down hasn't been eaten that doesn't mean it's not eating somewhere else. Have you found hamster droppings anywhere?Could it have escaped outside? As hamsters are nocturnal maybe you should look for it at night...good luck!
