My hamster just died!?!?

Question

We had 6 hamsters.....1 died in july and my other hamster just died yesturday. We got all of these hamsters from my friend is it possible that they all have birth defects or something?? all had same dad 1 (that died) had different mom bith moms were older like 2yrs old so...????

...all of them have food and water.

Do you know anything that couldve happend?

it could just be a a recessive gene that some of the hamsters got from the dad and the mom they had just happened to have that gene as well don't worry the other ones I'm sure they will be fine since they have different mothers

Maybe they fought each other when u weren't looking? had illnesses but u didn't know,tumors that u didn't see,not active enough,didn't get good food,stressed,anything like that could've occured.maybe they just had a birth defect. if they were dwarfs its quite possible for them to die at one year,but most dwarfs live at 1.5 years minamum

It could be a birth defect.

Hamsters generally don't tend to live more than a few years.
