  1. That's normal. It's a response to an "attack". If they think they are in danger, they play dead so to speak because they are prey animals in the wild. As long as she doesn't start flopping around, break any bones, or start bleeding she's fine.

  2. Well have you ever made a whistling sound or something and it freezes well its just because its new or exciting. When it falls it may just be in shock. It's nothing to worry about just make sure it isn't hurt.

  3. Is this re-occuring? Also what do you mean by "may barely even fall"? How far a drop? What type of surface does she land on? And how large is she?

Anyway, I suggest taking her to a vet - pet clinic.

  4. Hamsters have the behavior of "freezing" when she is simply focusing her attention on something. It could be a new or different sound or smell.  Most hamsters "freeze" standing on their hind legs but different hamsters will "freeze" in different positions, and the time that they remain in this position also differs. If your hamster has fallen down and then freezes, she could also be in momentary shock due to the impact. She will simply snap out of it in the next few minutes.

However if this behavior is displayed in combination with some other sickness symptoms. you might have to take her to a vet.

  5. It happens to every mammals or animals. Its like a shock. They just paused to get their minds back together. Something like a big headache.. But be wary of the height they fell from.. Imagine yourself falling from the 2nd or third storey of a building.. Do you get hurt?

  6. Well matters how far she drops and how do u no if she dosnt get hurt??? but maybe she can be spaced out or just staying still cuz theres probley somthing u hears that u dont hear...

  7. Well.......lets think. A hamster is-small,cute,and has no depth perception.

Hamster falls are VERY dangerous 6inches to them is 600feet for us.

My hamster never freezes up I would take it to the vet.

There have been known cases of epilepsy in hamsters.
