My hamster looks like its dying because all it does is sleep in a corner all stretched out.?

and it only did it twice. and its creeping me out!

theres no other sign but hes not biting the cage or anything

and it is really hot here! is he just cooling down in a corner spreading out and acting dead? or what? help me!!!!!!!! its also like 3 years old. or maybe 2. almost three.

I have a hamster which is 3 years old too. She looks very shabby and probably going to die too. She spends her time eating and sleeping. The temperature my hamster is experiencing it fairly warm which is about 28 degrees and above (Singapore). I checked out the hamster book which said that a hamster would live from 2 to 3 years probably. Living up to 3 years is already very good. So I guess you have to cherish your last moments together before it vanishes...

As long as it eats and drinks water it's fine although it's life span is almost up...They are also nocturnal so they sleep during the day and do backward flips all night.

You have an elderly hamster! He has probably just found a comfortable position to sleep in. Is he still eating his food and treats as well as drinking his water? If it is really hot he will move around more at night when it is cooler. You might not notice unless he starts running in his wheel at three in the morning. If he is not eating and drinking then he's in serious trouble. Hamsters are not usually known to be exceptionally energetic as older adults. They spend a lot of time sleeping, that is until you have to be up really early for that reallllly important whatever, and they pick that particular night to run a triathalon on their excersize wheel at three in the morning. I Hope your pet is doing ok. Try some special treats and see if that doesn't perk him up a bit. You might also try cleaning his cage really well. He could be suffering from ammonia build-up in his wood chips making it hard for him to breathe properly. Good Luck!
