My hamster sneezes is he sick?

sometimes my hamster sneezes but does not show any other symptoms of having a cold.we cant afford to go to the vet to check him,he does live to the side of a door on a table,i give hi plenty of bedding,is he ill?

He could have caught the cold.  Make sure your room (the room where the hamster's cage is in) is room temperature (68-78 degrees F)

I would definitely look at changing your bedding and seeing if this helps the situation. Quite a few hamsters can have an allergy or can be sensitive to wood chips. You can get the type which have had the dust extracted from them if you think this is a problem.

What kind of bedding do you use? if it's Aspen, Pine, Cedar, or Carefresh, change the bedding to Newspaper for a few days to see if it clears up.

How often does he sneeze? if it's just one sneeze once in a while, it's ok. But if it's multiple sneezes in a row, it might be a cold, even if he doesn't show any other symptoms.

Hi

keep Ur hamster away from draughty places like windows and doors, and also out of direct sunlight this can harm your hammy, also check that his bedding isn't wet and that he is cleaned regularly this will prevent the sneezing getting any worse.

also make sure he has a nice place to sleep somewhere cosy like a little house to put his bedding in when he goes to sleep.

but if his sneezing gets worse you must find some way of getting him checked out with a vet.
