I was playing with my dwarf hamster and put it back in it's cage and it sat back on it's butt, put it's arms up in the air and started twitching. It then rolled over on its back then on its belly. She did not respond to noise or me touching her. I gently rubbed it's back, thinking this would calm her down. It is really fat so do you think this could have something to do with her twitching? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME :'( I am sooo sad!!! What is wrong with my hamster???

  1. I agree, seems like you really need to take it to the vet.

  2. Heart Attack... or it went into Shock?

  3. it might be dying or having seizures

  4. It may have the hiccups. See if it clears up. If not, then your hamster may have some sort of heart problems if she's fat. Call a vet right now for advice and think about taking her in.

  5. I hate to say it but it sounds like it was having a seizure see about changing to a different sort of bedding something with the biggest clumps that you can find, it won't prevent the seizures or anything but I had an epileptic hamster that died from swallowing the wood chips he had in his cheeks. (PS I wouldn't bother taking him to the vet, they normally won't do anything for hamsters) I really hope he's ok, good luck.

  6. my rat did that once, but i was running the vaccum next to her cage[it was on the ground cos my sis was playing with her about 30min b4 that] and was vaccuming the food my sis spilled. probably shok, but she was ok after that. I hope ur hammy is ok!

  7. hamsters are ADHD positive so it could be that or it could be in shock or having seizure
