My hasmter seems to only want to be inside her little home, i stay up late and i rarely see her use her wheel or even leave the place. All she does is leave, get food, drink water, pee and go back. she even poops inside the house. is this normal?... oh and she also poops alot... way more than my sisters hamster, and the thing is there are no vets in my area that treat rodents. any ideas?

  1. Lots of sleeping and hiding is normal for hamsters. Take the hiding stop out for a day and she will still do the same, sit in the corner and be lazy, its just what they do. And its normal for then to p**p a lot. Yours just has a better appetite then your sisters.

  2. I've had a couple like that. Sounds like you just have a lazy one, lol. That's what most hamsters do anyway with the exception of running a lot at night.

  3. How long have you had this hamster?  When I was little my brother and I got a hamster that did that same thing.  It turned out she came pregnant and did not want any exercise or to be handled.  We did not know and handled her anyway.  A short time later she had babies that were all born dead.

  4. well i used to have a hamster! if you just got the hamster then its normal for that to happen there trying to get used to there new enviorment. but if there not new, and there hiding in there little home all the time then there probly sick. call a vet and ask. or go back to the place where you got it then ask about it.
