  1. Hamsters take time to get used to their new surroundings. Your hamster has just come in yesterday and is getting excited and scared by the new cage, new environment and new smells. That could be the reason for this hyperactive behavior. Also he must be checking out his new gadgets in the new cage and getting excited about it. Give him a week and he should settle down amiably to his new habitat. Hang around the cage and softly talk to him so that he gets used to your sound and smell and starts trusting you. Once he trusts you, he would calm down and relax in his environment.

  2. that's normal behavior for hamsters.  my hamsters did the same thing.  they will run around like crazy, stop, run around the cage, and then get back in the wheel.  they are just feeling energetic. my gerbils do that as well.

sometimes i think when they get off the wheel they think they are in a different place.  they run around to check things out, see that it's the same, and then get back on the wheel.  i honestly think they feel they are going somewhere else and that's why they do that.

  3. well he just sorda exploring his cage a littel because its a new place lots of lil kids run around there new house to explore thats the same as hamsters. or u have a very active hamster?

  4. hes just exited, scared, nervous and so many emotions he cant get them straight! and all hammys do that when they first come home or that could just be how HE is! if you notice him not coming out of his house or eating as much as ussual he is not "back 2 normal" he could possibly have wet tail. thats what my hammy did at first and then she got sick and died! :( ♥♥

  5. Maybe it is trying to keep itself too busy to think about being trapped in a bloody small cage with some great lump of a human peering in at it all of the time

  6. He just likes it so much

  7. hes probably excited and energetic, id rather have a hamster like that than a really quiet one who doesnt move. Just shows that he is a healthy hamster really :)

  8. He wants to go back to where he was.  Or with his mom or siblings.  My puppy wailed all night long when I first got her.

  9. he is just exited and really energetic and proberly loves his new cage =) good luck with your new hammie also hope this helped!!!!!!!!!!
