Uhhh, my hamster has a pink butt! I don't know if that is regular or normal or healthy or whatever. I just wanted to make sure.!

Whats a normal hamsters [fancy hamsters] butt look like?

And and another question! It keeps using its back feet to scratch itself! Is it cleaning? or do hamsters get ticks?

THANKS!(:

  1. Hahaha. Not to worry. I was pretty freaked out myself several years ago when I got my 1st hamster and saw that huge pink lump. It is completely normal, just like us having a butt.

They use there back feet to scratch all the time, so no worries. If it is scratching continuously though, see a vet.

  2. maybe is has herpes, try liking its butt

  3. They all have pink butts. xD

And hamsters can get fleas, like every other type of furry animal, but it may just have an itch.

  4. I don't know about the butt thing, but according to the other answers, the butt is normal. *round of applause*

    Hehe.

I just wanted to comment and tell ya that I have 7 guinea pigs and they get itches ALL the time. They also use their back legs...

I don't know how guinea pigs and hamsters relate, but I just though I should drop by and give you that little bit of info to help out your quest. =]

  5. It's so normal and healthy! Hamster's are supposed to have pink butts!!! And maybe it's just itchy and needs a bath or something! It's most likely cleaning... i don't think hamsters get ticks... lol. idk. I hope i helped!!
