my hamster looks wet, I think its because its sleeping under the water battle where it has built its nest, the babies are only 2 weeks old so im not sure if its safe to clean the cage, but i know its not fair to leave the hamster in a wet environment either so what should i do? also i can see condensation on the side of the cage.

  1. At two weeks old it's safe to clean a hamster cage with babies after two weeks. so your safe. And maybe you have something else to put the babies in?

  2. i would slowly take thn out and clean the cage and out them bak

  3. i think you should leave them. if the mother is not comfortable she will more the babies.

  4. you could use something to scoop them up without touching them. but 2 weeks should be fine. she shouldn't get too stressed at this stage. just make sure to give 'em more nesting stuff and maybe move the bottle if she decides to go back to that spot. but cleaning should be safe enough.

  5. They are old enough where it would be safe to change the bedding.  If you want to play it safe though scoop out the wet bedding and leave the rest.  If most of the bedding is saturated though you need to change the whole cage.  Make sure you keep the water bottle away from their nest.  If you change all of the bedding try to keep the nest intact.

  6. i would say to get a scoope or something gently get the babies in there and put some bedding in a container or something it should be ok at 2 weeks but the mom MAY get stressed and MAY eat them but she shouldnt its a small chance she will.once u put the pups in the container with the scoop put the mother in too.if u think shes stressed(not moving much or something like that) put the mom in a different cage only if u HAVE too.try not to keep them apart for too long if u do that.good luck!

  7. first move the water bottle or buy like a little something like this :http://www.petguideblog.com/wp-content/u...  so that it  can move it's babies there and then slowly change the bedding anything you need to know is here :http://www.hamsterific.com/
