  1. I agree with most of the answers. Definitely separate the male in his own cage if there is one present. Make sure you feed her some fresh veggies if you have them and it is very important to feed her some additional protein. One reason they eat their young is because of protein deficiency after giving birth. I was told to give my hammy a piece of dog food each day to make sure she had enough protein. Some hammies love it, others won't touch it though. I also agree that you shouldn't handle them or they will not be taken care of (or will be eaten).

Once they are old enough (couple of weeks) they will start being more independant and then it is ok to touch them. Just be careful because if they fall even from a foot or two, they could be hurt badly. :)

  2. aww thats so sweet well i would give away few of them and keep like 1 or 2 of them thats wat i id wiht my dogs puppies and ma cats kittens

  3. Congratulations! The first thing you should do is take out the male. If you do not have a spare cage you should either buy one or you can make one out of a clear storage box. Just cut a hole in the lid and cover it with a screen you can get at a hardware store. This will provide ventilation. As for the babies, just let them be alone with their mother. Give them food and water daily and let the mother be a mother alone. Hamsters are great at taking care of their babies. You can help by adding extra bedding and toilet paper so the mothdeter make a good nest for her babies. Try not to disterb the mother to much. You can even cover the cage with a thin blanket but be sure to leave room for enough ventilation. Oh yeah and do NOT touch the babies. This can kill them! Good Luck! Hope I helped :D

  4. Take the dad out, he will eat the babies. Other than that, just make sure the mom has food and water, and leave them alone.

  5. DON'T TOUCH THE BABIES.

Don't spend too much time even LOOKING at the babies or pay any attention to her or she will shove them in her mouth and eat some to keep them from getting hurt by you.

    Hamsters are crazy protective.

  6. Nothing.

    Leave the mother to it.

Keeping giving her food and water daily, but don't touch her, or the babies, or the nest, or stare to much- just leave her alone, she knows what she's doing.

  7. take out the daddy

and wach the mom closly to make sure she doesnt eat the babys to.

other than that let nature take its corse
