  1. i dont know what you are used to, but i will tell you what i do.....sitting on the floor, with your legs spread as far apart as possible to you.start leaning forward-GO SLOW-the longer you sit, and the closer your chest is to the floor, the looser your legs will get.after you go as low as you can,and you are comfortable, try a hand held extension while sitting.just grab your foot and see if you can straighten your leg while hanging on.once again-GO SLOW-you can hurt yourself bad if you push it to much.if you can get the extension while sitting, try to do it while standing.your hamstrings will be about as loose as they can be if you get there.and if you cant get the extensions at first, dont give up!you will get them if you stick to it,i promise-good luck!

  2. heating pad would probably help relax it.

  3. Guitargirl's stretch is for inner thighs, not hamstrings. Also, before you do any kind of stretching, you need to warm up to prevent injury.

Sit on the floor with one leg straight in front of you and the other bent like you're in a half butterfly stretch. Your legs will look like: <l

Then lean down as far as you can without twisting your hips; keep them square. Repeat on other leg. You can also put both legs out straight and lean down.
