Question:

My hands and fingers are absolutely killing me?

For the past month or so I have had a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers mostly but also in my hands. It's not in my wrists, or traveling up my arms at all. It's hard to describe the pain, but it feels like it's in my joints. It feels like I strained my fingers, like I pushed a button too hard with them or bent them backwards - but I didn't. And this has been going on for a month. I've tried Alleve and Tylenol and they didn't really help.

Does anyone have any ideas about what this could possibly be or what I might try to reduce the pain?

  1. Hi,Try pulling on the ends of your fingers and see if they crack, also you can try twisting your fingers slightly and see if they crack, you may try emu oil after you crack them,it;s good for arthritus, you can see that on www.talyala.com.au    a really helpful product.Good luck.I had the same problem, now it's gone.

  2. I've found finger exercise videos on Youtube that help relax and help the circulation in my arthritic hands.

  3. If your hands are on fire, you need to go see a doctor.

The reason for this pain can be the following:

Do you/did you play the guitar?

Do you/did you type a lot?

Do you use/did you your hands for work on a daily basis?

  4. It could be early stages of arthritis. did you click your knuckles when u were younger? See your dr!!1

  5. It could be arthristis.  I can also be ligament inflamation, if there is something else that would make you prone to that.  Is there any swelling?  If it's in the base joints of the finger it's more likely to be arthrisis.  If it's in the other joints it's more likely to be ligaments. (Based on personal experience & what my doctor explained at the time.)

That it's in both hands is very puzzling.  This isn't something to fool with I think.  Time to see a doctor if you can.  It could be system of something to catch with treatment.  Or it could just need rest.  Does rest seem to impact it at all?  Also, try cold packs, or wet heat & see if they help...

  6. it could be joint damage, either idiopathic (we don't know why or what caused it) or from an underlying condition that can be treated really simply.

It's time to see a doctor, if you can.
