  1. Many artists develop their own style in order to play an instrument. One day, just sit down and try a bunch of different ways to play. I wish you luck! I'm sure you'll find something that works.

However, if guitar doesn't work out for you, you may consider trying bass. It's very similar to guitar but there's much more room on the neck. perfect for bigger hands.

  2. theres no such thing.  One of my friends is in an old punk band that kids these days havent heard of called "Pennywise," from LA.  He's about 6'7'' and has huge hands, the size of my head.  He's a great player.  it all takes practice.  Just keep playing and just keep trying, you'll find a way that your hands fit.  you could try different guitars that have bigger fretboards, but how much would it suck if you could only play one guitar?  trust, me practice makes better.

  3. There are "wide neck" guitars out there with extra wide frets.  Any good guitar shop can help you out here.

  4. keep trying. if you cant then play bass

  5. I played the violin since I was in fourth grade,

and my mother gave me the smallest hands ever, hence getting called "baby hands" in high school now!

    XD

But what I managed to do,

I found my own comfort on the stick,

and found how to do things differently.

    Vibrato was really hard,

but I had to find my OWN way to do it.

I'm sure you can find a different way how to handle music,

it doesn't have to be like everyone else's.

    I mean,

    we're all different right?

Just find your own way and techniques that'll help you dude.

    ^___^

  6. You might do well with a Classical guitar, cos the necks tend to be wider.

    Hope this helps.

  7. An acoustic guitar would probably be the best answer for that, but if you don't like that because it's too big, then look for an electric acoustic guitar. some have the size and shape of the electric, but the neck of an acoustic. And you can even hook it up to an amp if you want.

  8. Hi Gregory

I have more than big hands and play proficiently without any hassle whatsoever. That is an excuse more or less. Some people have fat fingers and can play just as delicate as a skinny finger.

You have to play with the tip of your finger and not the whole ball of the finger.

Practice what you are weak in, and not what you are good in. If you have trouble because of your so-called big hands, then get a Gibson guitar. They have the fattest neck on the market which is what I use.

But I guarantee you that, won't make any difference. Every person has a style of playing as long as he follows some of the conventional techniques like holding the pick a certain way, and keeping the hand PARALLEL TO THE FINGERBOARD AT ALL TIMES.

  9. Practice, practice, practice.  Eventually, you'll find your hands are just right.

  10. Cosmetic hand reduction surgery.

And noones hands are too big. You just need practise. All the greats didnt have the same size hands. I've got a broken knuckle so I have limited movement in my left index finger. I still play.

Tony Iomi had lost the tips of most of his left fingers but played amazing guitar with leather caps on his fingers.

Practise and belief make anything possible :D
