My hd cable is being wierd...?

ok so i got brighthouse digital cable hooked up in my room today and it hooked up with an hdmi cable. the hd channels look amazing but the regular stations are all fuzzy. what can i do to fix this?

Sit further away.  No, I mean it.  

This is what happens when a blah signal comes through a HD capable set.  It just doesn't look good, especially compared to the HD channels.  Sorry.
