Question:

My headphone chord has lead in it?

it said on the back that it has lead in the paint and can be harmful if not properly used. and to "wash hand after use". is this just a legal precaution or should i get rid of them?

(by the way, it's made in china, of course)

  1. its not worth taking a chance over cheap headphones.  take them back and get your money back

  2. legal precaution. I would not recommend gnawing on the headphone cord.

    Of course it has LEAD in it, lead is used to solder connections, and in chinese factories where they do not have th same standards as the USA, there is solder smoke, and the smoke settles on the cord and headphones.

    If you like the headphones, use them. If you are concerned about lead dust, wash them with a soft cloth, dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Then ignore the fear mongers that have never used solder in their lives.
