My headphones are picking up radio transmissons?

i can hear fm radio just not as clear i can hear 40 kbps from my

headphones

  1. If the length of the cord is just right for the radio frequency, that can happen.  That was how the crystal radio became a fad way back when.

    We have a powerful radio station about 5 or 6 miles away as the bird flies.  Some days the radio station can be heard on the phone better than the caller.

  4. The cord on your headphones is acting as an antenna and picking up a strong, local radio station.

    You could try wrapping some ferrite around the headphone cord to stop it. Such as this:
