My heart pulse increases from 58-59 to 75-80 upon waking and standing, respectively. Is this normal?

I've been performing Dr. Coca's Pulse Test on myself, but I'm not sure if whether or not I'm a candidate. My usual recumbent pulse upon waking is 58-59, and it jumps to 75-80 once I'm out of bed. How can I assess whether or not I'm having an allergic reaction to any of the foods I test when my pulse seems to abnormally jump so high? I'm 6'5" and weigh 248 lbs. Is my allergen just the fact that I awake, period? LOL I don't know. Can someone who's more familiar with Dr. Coca's Pulse Test and/or cardiology guide me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Merci very mucho!

  1. yeah-- 80 is not high at all-- if you were twenty high intensity exercise would have you at 150-160bpm.

  2. I've never heard of Dr Coca's pulse test but what you describe is perfectly normal physiological response to a change in posture and activity.

There is no way of using your pulse to test for allergies, if that is what the pulse test is supposed to do, it is nonsense.   I hope you didn't pay money for that "information"

EDIT...okay, I just googled it....yes..The Pulse Test is complete nonsense.

  3. I think you're worrying WAY too much...  your numbers are very normal.

  4. Yeah, sounds about normal.

  5. that's completely normal.

your heart does have to work pushing that blood around according to the needs.... activity.

the more activity,  the more beats.

that's a good pulse rate you have by the way.   your rates are very TEXTBOOK averages.

    relax... :D

  6. yeah its normal. mine resting is 80 and when i stand it went to 149

  7. You have whats called an athletes heart. The heart rate will be very low while you are resting and then jump to when you start to move around. That would be the most likely reason for your problem, but I would get it checked out just in case.

  8. very my pulse runs 106 when at rest and goes as high as 130 to 140 and i am at risk of heart attack, blood pressure meds help blood pressure but not pulse any ideas?
