  1. I'm pretty sure he's just molting.. nothing to worry about. :]

  2. Dont worry it happens sometimes, although it us weird. Dont worry he should be just fine, you cant really do anything. Good Luck!

  3. Hermit crabs usually lose entire limbs/appendages because of stress.  Therefore, it is vital that you disturb him as little as possible.  Ensure that he has enough food, fresh water, and ocean water; keep the relative humidity between 70-80%; and make sure the temperature is between 70-80 degrees F.  Then leave him be.

Make sure the claw he dropped is not hollow; if it is, he is molting.  In this case, again it is vital to disturb him as little as possible.  In addition to the above suggestions, you should also offer him some calcium.  You can grind up some cuttlebone or hardboiled eggshells and put it in his food dish.  Leave the hollow exoskeleton as well, as it also provides calcium for him (very important in the hardening of his new exo).

  4. I am not sure why this happened but I enclosed some links.  I do know that you can help him by putting cuttlebone and honey in his cage..
