it worked fine then it started to do this... i cleaned it out (all the dust and watnot) then reset the bulb and still does it. its not always like this but id say 25% of the time its clear (or a good picture). the bulb should be fine only has like 900 hours on it... any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

  1. To me, it looks like the analog to digital converter in the projector has lost a lot of bits of pixel depth.   Instead of 8-10 bits per color per pixel (RGB), you're getting only a couple of the most significant bits.

Am I right in assuming you are using analog inputs into the projector? (not DVI or HDMI)

  2. The colour depth is way too low. You can see the same effect if you turn a colour computer monitor settings to 16 or 256 colour mode.  In essence the display is only been given a very limited choice of colours ... hence the blocky patches of the same colour and major steps to the next choice.

It's something to do with either the video processor in the projector or in the PS2 ... but I have no idea which. You can probably isolate to the projector if the PS2 gives an OK picture on another display (e.g. a TV). If you don't have a bit depth setting in the menu you probably have a service issue.

  3. I dont think thats the bulb it may be the resolution or the focus. try adjusting the setting and have you tried customer service? i know most help desks suck but give it  a go.

  4. It's possible that the lens have worn out if the projector is old or second hand over even gets used alot.

All You need to do is to walk into a computer shop and ask for some help with your projector. bring it in the car so they can have a look at it. If no shop can help you, look in the yellow pages and look for Hitachi factory's and customer support phone numbers!!

    Hope I Helped :D

  5. nothins wrong i dont believe u drew that its so deatailed and creative...wow ur good at drawing

  6. what are you using as a back for that projecter (a bulliten board, a whiteboard, wall ect.)

Second, check if its close to the wall, or whatever you are using. Try moving it back, or cleaning the lense.... from that picture, i'd say its reflecting?
