  1. Don't do anything but make sure she has fresh bedding, food and water. She will do the rest. About a week before they are born she will start pulling hair out of her tummy to make a nest, so soon after she starts that watch for them to be born. Don't bother her or the babies. Take a peek in and remove any dead ones, if there are any, other than that let her take care of them. When their eyes are open and they are hopping around you can start handling them. Good luck.

  2. You should have her spayed right now.

Do not allow your rabbit to have even one litter. Even if you find good homes for those babies, those are good homes that the shelter rabbits won't get. And what if each of those babies is allowed to have one litter? Will you take responsibility for each of them finding a good home? I can guarantee that within one or two generations a rabbit from that "just one litter" will end up dead at a shelter.

Talk to others about this problem. Many people are unaware of how many rabbits are being surrendered and euthanized at shelters-and compared to the ones who are dumped in fields, those at shelters are the lucky ones. Lucky to have a lethal overdose of sodium pentothal injected by a caring person!

  3. Hi, we actully just experienced this! If you'd like to e-mil us for more information its kcrabbitry@gmail.com

    and our website is

and i apologize the website isnt complete.

OK so what you need to do is give it a nest box when it is 27 days pregnant and then in a few days your rabbit should start ot pull out her fur which means she will be having the babies in 3 to 24 hours and they generally like to have thier babie at night so dont wait up. The first day you should  check on them and take out any dead ones but dont examine them too much the first day for this may stress the mother.... and for a first time mother there are many risks that the babies will not live but if none do live you may re-breed her five days later.... but i just had a litter of hollands and my doe made a great mother and now they are  21 days old GOOD LUCK!!! :)

  4. Keep the babie in the cage with the mother for 2 months. then keep them or sell them.

  5. Just Relax. First of all the rabbit will not have the babies until about day 28 to day 34. Around August 26th, give the doe a nest box filled with hay and shavings. The mother will pull her own fur and make the nest when she's ready. Mother rabbits are really good about handling and giving birth themselves. Just let her be and don't be scared. After you have noticed there are babies, pet the mother with one hand so you can make sure the babies are all okay and dispose of any babies that didn't make it. You won't believe your eyes seeing how beautiful the babies are with no fur for at least a week, the eyes will open after two weeks. Congratulations! The first litter is one you will always remember. Feel free to ask me any other questions, I have been raising and breeding rabbits for over 5 years.
