I wake up every morning during summer to enjoy the sun rise. To my dismay, the past week including today - the sun shines slightly from the south east. Did the earth shift...or is this part of global warming?

  1. it change in 2007, you didn't noted that

  2. Noo... the seasons are whats changingg...

  3. This is a sure sign of global warming. Before man created automobiles the sun set at 6pm and the sun set at 6 am regardless of what day it was. Now that man has realeases tons of carbon into the atmosphere that daylight hours have increased dramatically in summer. In California in 1850 the average temperature in the southern deserts was 70 in summer now it can get up to 110 in places such as Death Valley. I believe we must all go back to riding tricycles otherwise mankind is doomed and even Al Gore can't help us. I also think that everyone who does not believe in man made global warming should be given the death penalty.

  4. The earth did not shift.

Global warming would not affect the earth spin.

Get yourself a compass, I bet your balcony is not perfectly oriented east, and as season change, the exact point of sunrise, for latitudes that are not tropical, would appear to shift, and it was north-east around the time of the solstice, and is now moving to be true east by the time of the equinox (September 22 this year).

  5. No the seasons are changing.

  6. as the earth revolves around the sun, the tilt of the earth as it rotates on it's access changes the angle at which the sun shines to the surface. As it advances to the winter half, and the tilt puts the sun more directly below the equator (thus the equinox in spring and fall) you will see it rise lower and lower to the south until the winter solstice and then make it's way back to where it was for you this summer.

  7. At the end of June, the Sun rises towards the north east. In September, at the equinox, it rises due east. By December it rises towards the south east. You are witnessing its gradual movement southwards. If you had looked out on the same day last year, you would have seen it rise in the same place. There hasn't been any shift of the Earth and it isn't to do with global warming.

  8. at my house, the sun rises in my kitchen window on the side of a U shaped bump-out..... by ten am, the sun is over the porch and the kitchen is shaded.... as we move to fall, the sun moves it's area of rising, to be finally, along about October, in the bottom curve of the U and it shines in the windows so as to light up the whole bank of cabinets along the wall , not just the table in the bump-out....I love to watch the season progress this way..... if you didn't notice the shifting, it's cause you been busy.....now you will, tho..... enjoy watching your world turn!!....
