My home page shows my name incorrectly?

Question

even though i have set it in my preferences my home page shows "hi, (my full name)" when i actually want it to show "hi, (abbreviated name)" . Dumb, but its bugging me, what did i miss?

If you don't click the "Finished" then it won't stay.  Here is the complete instructions.

Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.

Click "My Account" at the top of the page, near the middle, where you see "Welcome, yourname." It's between "Sign Out" and "Switch Back."

Enter your password and click "Continue."

Scroll down to the Address/Contact Information section and click "Edit."

The name you entered in the "First name" field is the name displayed on the Yahoo! Mail Welcome page.

To change it, double-click to highlight the current name and then type a new name.

Click "Finished" in either the upper- or lower-right corner of the page, then again on the Account Information page. All done!

Your new Welcome name now appears when you login to Yahoo! Mail. If you don't see the new name, click the "Refresh" or "Reload" button on your browser's toolbar.

if your talking about myspace go to edit profile name and delete what it has then save changes it should work if not then myspace is having issues

home page will be, thats yahoo updates,  although you can have beta mail or the classic for now, i like the classic, you cant change the home page, best bet if you ask yahoo, but most likey it will stay, that part dont bother me,

I suppose you are referring to your display name? It shows what you have set while opening the account or set previously. Try this, Open that account (email box), go to options, look for the preference of DISPLAY name, change it and then try. The changed name will be the one , what will go in your mail others receive. eg: ABC "[e-mail]". It should show you what you want to see - the abbreviated name. Good luck. This name will appear in My Yahoo also.
