Question:

My home phone keypad help!?

On my home phone hand set , one of the numbers on the keypad broke! the number 6 to be exact.and i still have the button that came off..but i cant get it to stay in..any help please??

p.s. do not comment saying "i don't know"

  1. depends on the phone; if it is an old AT&T phone, then NO, it cannot be repaired because it cannot be broke.

    If it is a cheap phone, you can remove the top half of the clamshell case, lift out the circuit board, remove the rubber membrane, put the button back into place and reverse the disassembly to reassemble.


  2. Often the number pad on a cordless phone is actually one solid piece. You just can't see how they connect because it is under the plastic cover. If this is the case, you may be out of luck because what is left might not be enough to hold the whole thing together anymore.

    If the buttons are separate see if you can get the phone open. Pry GENTLY around the edges with a flathead screwdriver. usually there are just little clips that will pop apart. You don't want to break any of them, so be really careful as you open it up. Once you have it apart, try putting the button in from the inside, and make it look like all the rest of them. Snap it back together and you are good to go!!
