  1. You need a filter on every single device on your phone line including phones, faxes, or anything else which is on the phone line. This should have been supplied from your ISP.

If they didn't get down to a local computer/electornics store, in the UK Maplins is a good one or PC world if you like being ripped off.

  2. You should provide more details.  As written this makes little sense.

Usually people consider the term "broadband cable" to mean that they receive Internet service from a CATV (community area TV or Cable TV) service.  If you also receive voice phone via CATV then there is a problem with the CATV provided voice interface.  Contact CATV supplier.

I strongly suspect you actually have Digital Subscriber Link (DSL) from you phone company and you should have stated this.  DSL service uses the same pair of wires as does the voice line.  DSL signal has to be filtered from all voice lines via filters provided by the Telco.  You must NOT use a voice filter for the feed going to the DSL modem.  Failure to filter properly will result in the problem you describe.  Go back to the instructions provided by the Telco for more details.

  3. If you mean that your telephone won't work unless you disconnect the line to/from your PC then you obviously haven't got filters connected to all - ALL your sockets. Easy as that ! ! !

  4. Have you got one of those filter thingies installed?

  5. then you should off paid your bill

  6. Try changing the microfilters and make sure that there is one on every phone connection within the house. The microfilters stop interfirance between the ADSL signal (broadband) and the If PSTN line (voice). If this does not work try:

If it is within the UK and with BT try ringing 150 from the handset and taking to someone from BT see if they can help you

  7. For that you have to get Splitter which will split the telephone line inserted to Voice and Data lines, from the voice line connect to the phone and DATA line connect to modem.

the splitter will look like 1->2 phone line socket

  8. Have you used a filter?
