  1. It's most likely the Amp in the tuner of your system...you can hear mine when not playing music...


  2. You may want to check if power cables are crossed over one another, or lying on top of other connector/speaker cables.  You might want to get yourself a power conditioner too.

  3. Get the hum sound so you can hear it.

    Then un-s***w your main CATV cable. If the hum goes away, call your CATV company, explain the problem and have them send someone out to Ground the coax outside your house.

    The CATV coax is picking up 60 hz noise and like a giant antenna - feeding it into your system. Grounding outside the house solves this problem.

  4. you could have a ground loop problem.  i'm not even going to try and explain it.  google "ground loop."
