  1. I don't think you should go to the rodeo. You probably wouldn't place very high if your horse wasn't feeling good anyway. You might could ask your friends or trainer or someone you know with a horse that's not going to be in the rodeo and then maybe ride their horse in it instead. If not, there'll be other rodeos. Hope your horse gets better (:

  2. I think you may leave out the rodeo.

For anyone who disagreed with me, you can't take an ill horse to a show like that and there is no quick fix medicine. The only thing you will manage to do is make the cold even worse and risk pnemonia.

Let your horse rest it off and get the vet to give him his jabs. There will be other shows or rodeos.

  3. Do not take him to the rodeo.

He is sick and no one

    should bring a sick horse

to a rodeo. Its not a thing

for the vet, colds go away

on their own. But the horse

should still not go to the rodeo.

good luck with your horse hope

    he gets better:)

  4. Pepto Bismol usually does the trick when horses are sick. Use one small bottle or half of a maximum strength bottle. Vitamins you can get at any vet store also help.

  5. At this point, you don't know whether or not he is contagious.  My guess is that whoever it was that brought their sick horse to the trail ride didn't care about infecting the other horses there, because he or she wanted to go to the ride, regardless.

So, now, you want to treat symptoms so you can take your sick horse to the rodeo and infect everybody else's horses.  This is exactly how epidemics happen.

Your horse is sick...keep him at home, and call the vet for advice on treatment.

I would like to ask "happy with god" how it is that she would know whether or not this is a thing for the vet?  What do you base such a statement on?

  6. Sorry, do not chance the rodeo and letting your horse get sicker

get the flu shot and allow time for it to take hold..better safer than sorry

and I am sorry your horse is not feeling well.

I will send over some Posh Puffs for the babies nose and some cough drops to soothe the throat and some good ole home made chicken noodle soup,..we will have that baby running the mile in nothing flat

for real, hope your horse gets well really soon, I know its hard missing your first rodeo, but the horses health is the first concern and I know you will not do anything to hurt your horse

  7. NO Rodeo!!!  get your flu-vac asap and talk to your vet.  He will probably put your horse on Tucoprim (an antibiotic) and tell you to give your horse a well deserved rest. Which unfortunately means no rodeo's.  It will clear up fast and your horse will be ready to rodeo in good time
