  1. cal  the vet  pleas.

  2. get the vet out asap!

  3. Just call the vet a horses leg is not something you should be waiting to fix.

  4. Ohhh that idiot with get out the gun is retarted. I can't say with out looking at it. She could have been bitten by an insect that is causing a reaction to the bite. Do you see any cuts or sores??? Check her hoof and see if her hoof is clear. Maybe while riding she twisted strained her leg. If you have something to wrap her leg up do that to keep the pressure off her swollen leg. This would be of course a bandage. You can't let horse injuries or problems be lead a stray without proper diagnoses and care. With horses it can be anything. As long as she is not acting lathargic she is fine. She just needs to be kept off that leg.

  5. save the bill, get out the gun.

  6. let it use crutches..

  7. Does your mare have any obvious injuries ( i.e., bleeding, or a cut) or is she standing in an odd stance? If not, then I agree with the cold water hosing for 10 or 15 minutes before you call the vet. I would also walk the mare around slowly for a little while after hosing her, and see if that doesn't help the swelling. It may just be that she stocked up while she was on the trailer, and moving around will help get the circulation going again and bring the swelling down.

If the mare has an obvious injury, such as a bleeding cut, or it's clear that her shipping bandage or boot was on incorrectly ( or was too tight, which is another common complication ) then I would call your vet first and ask what you need to do. Follow his or her instructions carefully- and try to keep your mare as quiet as you can until the vet gets there.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

  8. o no!!!!!

    which horsey is it

  9. As another poster mentioned, cold hosing can help, if you have bute you can try a little of that....no more than 2 g per day.  Apply a sweat wrap after the cold hosing.... The fact that she's weight bearing is a good thing.  But I'd still try to get a vet out tomorrow to check her out.

  10. No unless you have a great deal of experience .Torn tendon ,maybe something to do with the hove, shoe .bite .do you have snakes.rat's ride on gravel?

  11. Maybe he was "HORSIN AROUND"..lol, get it =D

  12. it cant recover.. im sory to tell that...

  13. Try hosing it down for ten minutes,  three  times daily.  Put liniment on inbetween these hosings.  Walk the horse.  Usually these things help.  Do this for 2-3 days.  DO NOT RIDE THE HORSE.

  14. Not trust your prized animal to a bunch of teenyboppers who haven't gotten any closer to a horse than reading My Friend Flicka.

    Call the vet.

  15. Um ya do not listen to these idiots on here(not all of you are idiots) that do not care and give stupid advice. I would call the vet and keep her comfy in a stall until the vet can get out and give a PROFESSIONAL opinion.
