you know my Tb mare that's been sick and skinny, well she's putting on weight again now, but for the last few days, she's been having a love affair with the fence post. she just stands there looking at in lovingly ALL DAY! she sleeps beside it, licks it from top to bottom, scratches her head on it and leans against it....what on earth is going on?

  1. sounds like she needs some loving.

she obviously wants to pleasure someone. ;D

  2. sounds like your horse needs to get laid

  3. I have a horse but am not a horse expert however i would suggest you give her a bath...could be that she has some mites, fleas or just clogged up itchy skin and is trying her best to relieve the itch.

Regarding her positioning beside it - I can only offer a few things to get you thinking (hopefully in the right direction) ....may be attributed to the desire to be near her scratching post, shade, whats on the other side, or a wind break.  Do you feed her near it or is the gate near by?

Horses are herd animals with a hierarchy...the horse she met was likely below her in rank and the bite on her behind was given to put him in his place.  Don't be put off - you can always try another paddock mate...and it generally takes a few days for them to settle.  If you place the new horse in a paddock beside her for a while it usually helps things along a bit.

    All the best

  4. Well, look at it this way, she finally found something she gets along with  & you don't have to feed it, groom it, have it's feet done & no vet bills!!

    BB.....~shakes heads~ what can I say?  LOL!

  5. well does she have s*x with it? no, so she's not "in love" with it. She probably just feels comfortable around it.

  6. I don't know, but I had to respond 'cause you gave me a good laugh. Thanx.

  7. she obviously needs some loving

  8. idk i have never heard of that b4

  9. LOL.  I have no clue...but I'm glad to hear she is doing better

  10. poor thing....she needs a friend.

  11. I knew this time would come to talk to you about this....

When a horse and a fence post love each other very much....

:P Just kidding. I don't know, ask her!

  12. Lmao

    thats funny

the horse is giving the pole oral s*x

    thats good

but seriously i have no idea

  13. I have no idea that sounds really weird.

  14. buy it a mate

  15. she's confused get her a stud

  16. LOL That has to be an odd sight...Maybe now that she is feeling better she needs a friend and the post it always there for her LOL

  17. LOL! At least she fell in love with something that's not going to cost you money!!

    **Edit**

d**n I look stupid now. I didn't read Blues answer beforehand, which is basically my answer, but better! LOL!

Ah, BB.... *sigh* I can always count on you to make me giggle!!

  18. it does sound kind of funny but i would follow the other guys advice and give her a good bath for starters.  secondly she is lonely.  i just got a horse off the track, and it took 2 weeks of getting scraped up and nipped to find his place in the herd.  another mare would probably be best, becasue when she comes into heat she will bug the dickens out of a gelding.  mares are the ones who indicate when they want loving , not the boys...it is the mares that are the agressors at that time, not the boys.  i would get her a goat, donkey or other mare to go out with.

  19. Black Bunny...girl what we gonna do with you?

    HAHAHAHA  best answer yet!

    ok, for reals...

maybe she is really needing that herd so had turned her attention to the post, adopting it as her 'buddy'.

She is lonely and is doing what she can.

Get a goat or some other companion for her.  Or she WILL end up winking at that stud post!

  20. LOLOLOL....in-appropriate infatuation, maybe she likes the dull, quiet, skinny. tall, ruff texture, funny looking horses. he he he

  21. Is it a 'stud' post?

I'd really start getting worried if she turns around and 'winks' at it...

  22. haha thats so funny, i dont know what could be going on all i know is with my TB he usually goes near a fence post to crib-bite lol. Does it have a smell to it that may be contributing to it. I know bleach make animals go crazy or some certain fence wash stuff. It could be a smell or taste or something

i dont know really jsut some ideas
