She became entangled in a lead rope which lead to some bad rope burn on the back of her right leg, just above the hoof. This was on sunday. So far I have been rinsing any dirt off of it and applying blue lotion and a a wound bug repellant at least once a day. Is this what I should do?

  1. Clean it really good with  betadine. Then apply an antibiotic lotion and wound bug repellant.  Keep an eye on it and feel it.  If it feels hot that could be a sign of infection.
