sorry for lack of detail!

i have a gas combi boiler.

i think its since i had my bathroom moved upstairs, from then the hot water never comes on downstairs. i have had to turn tap on downstairs then walk upstairs to turn tap on in bathroom, then i hear boiler kick in.... but now, even the taps upstairs need 2 or usually 3 taps on - all hot water, for the boiler to kick in and heat the water up.

hope this adds enough detail.

thanks

  1. Craig,

Not much info to go on but sounds to me that you may have an air lock in the system.

    You could try this ....

    Turn 1 hot tap on

Go to another tap in the house and connect a hose between hot and cold.  I have used hose from back of  washing machine to do this (threaded fittings)

Turn cold water on run until you have water running from hot tap, leave running and turn the rest of the hot taps in house until they all have a steady flow.

    Hope that helps....

  2. Is it a Tankless waterheater (hot water on demand)?

If so there is a flow switch that needs a certain amount of flow in gpm  (gallons per minute) before it knows to turn itself on. Unfortunately the flow switches are usually non adjustable and would most likely have to be replaced.
