  1. well they are probably on the same segment of piping. you most likely have a clogged line. that or check the aerators. they unscrew from the spout.

  2. Probably on a different set of pipes than the other items like showers.  Do you get any water at all or just cold? If you aren't getting any water you probably have a blockage of some sort.   If your getting cold, I can't think of anything that would cause it unless you have 2 different water heaters and one has an issue.

  3. In my house, one pipe supplies hot water to all taps. From this each tap is tee'd off. If you can trace the pipe, usually the pipe that exits the hot water from the hot water heater, see which one leads to kitchen tap for example. If you are getting only cold water, I can't see, other than a cold water line got connected somehow to the tap hot water side. Under the kitchen sink you can sort of feel which line is hot water, if it is coming to the tap. That would mean hot water is at tap but it is possible the tap is blocking the hot water and allowing only cold water to pass. The tap usually mixes the two, unless you have two different taps, one for each. In the former case, can be simple as replacing the tap. IMO, not worth replacing say the cartridge--not cheap and may be very difficult to take out. Or, it could be a rubber O ring that is blocking the hot water inside the tap. Those are relatively easier to replace.

If you have any fancy mechanics that are like valves that control hot or cold water flows(by some electronic sensors), then I don't know much about them other than some valve/damper for hot water to kitchen sink probably stuck or malfunctioning--but in that case you won't get any water.

Hope this is of some help.

  4. Hot and cold water flow down separate pipes.  Does the bathtub hot water work?  If so, you may just need to open the valves at the two sinks.  Otherwise, your hot water pipe may be blocked (rust?).  Could be a leaking pipe - but if your pipes are in the attic, you probably would have noticed this by now.
