  1. ask them to lay you off.  getting fired for "just cause" could give the state reason not to pay unemployment benefits.  make sure first how much unemployment you have coming first and see if you can live on it vs. 10 hrs/week.  the economy is the pits right now and you may be better off putting together several part-time jobs than being on unemployment which could run out who knows when

  2. State to state may be different but, most states you are only considered full-time if you work 32 hours per week.  Any drastic cuts less than that they deduct your earned wages from your benefits and you still get a partial un-employment check.  All you can do is apply in your state of residence and see what they say.

  3. Get yourself fired and then you can draw unemployment

  4. Find a different job and quit. You don't get much on unemployment anyway.

  5. What state are you in? In California you can draw partial unemployment if you make less than what you can draw.

  6. It depends on which state you live in.  In NH, you can collect unemployment even if your hours were cut.  Sounds like they were drastically cut and you should qualify.  I'd try to submit a claim and have the agency make the decision.  I mean, go through the claim process even if the person at the counter says no.  They are not the folks in charge of who gets what.

  7. Call in sick at the worst times, perform lousy and you will get fired.
