  1. Out here in Arizona the roaches come inside looking for water, not because you are dirty.

Try pouring a cup of bleach down all the drains in your house including your bathtub at night once a week.  If you live in a house and don't have plants or pets outside (and you have permission if you rent) you can also make a barrier of dry boric acid around the perimeter of your home.

IF you are going to spray then spray inside than out to drive the roaches out.  If you are in an apartment or townhouse and your neighbors are spraying the roaches are coming over to get away from the poison.  Good Luck.

  2. roaches come in from outside, shopping bags from grocery stores, the yard last month i had a tree taken down and started seeing roachs in the house (my  wife is a clean freak so it was a surprise to both of us)

you've been there 4 months, renting? rentals are notorious for roaches and anyplace in the south has roaches they are just there and they help themselves and don't ask.  call the landlord and raise a little cain with him. get an exterminator.  a little boric acid in the far reaches of base boards and backs of cabinets kills them off too. (boric acid is an eye cleanser, so it is safe with humans and pets generally)

  3. Call terminex or one of those exterminators...They were probably there before you...if you've seen 4 or 5 there are more hiding somewhere...I used to work retail and Boric Acid never stayed on the shelf long...it's a powder in a tall fat container with a pointer dispenser on it...squirt into crack and crevices...be careful if you have animals...I'm not sure what it will do to them...

exterminator is your best choice at this point though...

    *wink*

  4. someone should come spray your home.

if you see one cockroach, that means there's hundreds. they multiply quickly.

  5. Cleanliness has nothing to do with it.  Roaches are so prolific because they keep themselves so clean.  It's really true.

The best, safest and cheapest method is as follows.  Go to the drug store and buy a small box of borax powder.  "20 Mule Team is the most common brand."  It's a cleaner and is safe to use.

Mix a cup of it half and half with confectioners (powered) sugar.  Sprinkle it in the bottoms of your cabinets and the back of your drawers, where ever you think the little devils are hiding.  The sugar will attract them.

Then what happens is the borax will clog the pores in their feet, and causes them to dehydrate and die.

I swear it worked for me when I had an apartment and could do NOTHING else to stop them.

  6. Good luck trying to keep them out. I have brought this device called "Riddex Plus Digital Pest Repeller" (which is inexpensive). It drives roaches/rats and other pest from your home without killing them.

I used to stack up on "Raid" but the roaches will be in the same place within a month. I also use bug foggers which will basically wipe out all the roaches in the room.

  7. Once a month spray all around the house, baseboards and around the fridge and stove.  I use this stuff called Bengal Gold and it worked pretty good.  I am a neat freak to, and was horrified when I moved in this really nice apartment 3 months ago only to find a few roaches.  Even one is too many.
